17/30 Fashion Night Out & The Irrelevance of An Event

September 17, 2013

Fashionably late is a term, almost a lifestyle approach that the fashion industry often adopts, when it comes to putting on a show the day before, postponed rendez vous and more than often associated to the impressive habits of Marc Jacobs when and his reputation of never being on time. However it’s pretty bad, when an established event, such as Fashion Night Out seems to be more than just fashionably late, it’s just redundant. And what’s worse is that is sponsored than the most influential magazine in the world, Vogue Paris.

Undoubtedly, that’s not the case everywhere. In New York, it perfectly coincides with the beginning of FW, turning into an all day celebration extravaganza. But in Paris, the streets feel empty and after all the it crowds (and the street style photographers that go ensemble) is still living it up in London, probably in awe of what Mr Ford presented last night.

So for all the Parisians that still have a sense of fashion purpose, Fashion’s Night In is highly recommended. Put on your vintage fur, a pair of irreverent pearls and get hooked on Style.com, there’s always something that will make up for this terribly unfashionable weather.

Some of Ford’s highlights showcasing the best of laser cut leather, lace and disco fever:
