16/30 LFW: Green, Mint & All That Print

September 16, 2013

In stark contrast with the dark taste that NY fashion week left us with for SS2014, in London it was a whole other story, with Jacobs’ gloom turning more into a full bloom. In fact, floral dominated the london look, in all shapes, forms and designers. More than an optimistic feel about the future, an eco hedonsim trend did rise above the occasion. And the execution varied, depending on the sartorialist twist that each Londoner had to offer. In Bailey’s world of Burberry, green was minty delicate lace, bejeweled dresses and pastel accesories, whereas Peter Pilotto and Jonathan Saunders revisited the mint print, with Cara Delevigne channeling neo green urbanism.

So far, the most direct vision came from none other than Christopher Kane, where he didnt hesitate to print botanic inspired words such as flower and petal in must have jumpers and laser cut dresses. Let’s see what Milano will bring.
