12/30 Proenza Schouler & The Redefinition of Effortless

September 12, 2013

It takes real talent to make a non sexy term such as effortless and casual into a million dollar concept that everyone who is anyone in the fashion industry (and beyond) fall head over heels for it – after all The PS1 bag has officially become one of the must have staples that everyone needs-.

So far, NY fashion week has been a bit of a snooze having us wondering whether New York should be indeed renamed Old York. But Proenza (and the creative duo behind the brand) is a living proof that NY scene has still something that the other cities struggle with: nonchalant casual wear that is tailored to a whole new level of sartorialist perfection. This Spring, Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough were all about domesticity and let me tell you, these clothes will inspire everything but staying in at home. Lines and material that could look and feel heavy, felt fragile, soft and perfectly balanced. All in all, it was NY at its best.
