11/30 Byredo Parfum: Smell it Like It’s Hot

September 11, 2013

Every now and then there’s a new name into the intergalactic world of perfumes that we should be looking out for. Byredo Perfumes is a good reason to rethink the perfume you are wearing over and over again. 3 angles equally compelling: fragrance per se, packaging (a modern classic, Chanel n5 take on minimalism) and collaborations (from the quintessence of design house M/M and Acne Studios). Fragrance extraordinaire, Ben Gorham, a real citizen of the world (after all his origins are a fusion of India, Scotland, Sweden and more), has created a series of perfumes that will perfectly go beyond just stimulating the olfactory senses.

Among his standouts, worth trying Blanche, an hommage to classical beauty of pure white and his woody orriental take on Oud Immortel for that perfect winter night somewhere in Paris. Of course, for those collaboration fanatics, his latest addition is none other than the photographic genius duo of Inez & Vinoodh, named 1996 and inspired by innocence, as felt seen and captured through the creative eyes of Inez.
